ITINERARY

Day 1: Nairobi/Arrival Kenya

Upon arrival at the JKIA Airport, you will meet our very able and proficient staff that will escort you to your booked venue.

Day 2: NAIROBI – Masai Mara

After your breakfast, we shall pick you from your hotel at 0800hrs for the Mara drive. The game drive heading south is commonly known as the ultimate game drive experience where on gets to cross two countries, the home of the famous wildebeest migration. We will later drive towards the Great Rift Valley and have a view down as you take photos. Our second stop will be at Narok town where it is the major Maasai Administration Centre. We will proceed further to Mara Sopa Lodge for lunch at 1600hrs where it will mark our start of the beautiful evening drive and later have dinner at the lodge. The Mara Sopa Lodge is 250km away from the capital city of Kenya.

Day 3: MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE

After breakfast, this will be a day of game viewing where you will carry packed lunch. Blessed with an outstanding concentration of animals and panoramic views of across the plains and dotted woodlands, the Masai Mara provides an experience unsurpassed. As the northern extension of the great Serengeti grassland, the reserve is
host to the annual migration of over a million wildebeest the most awesome wildlife spectacle on planet earth. The Mara covers an area of about 1,500 square kilometers in the southwestern corner of Kenya, is not fenced and bordered on the west by the Olooloo escarpment and in the east by the Ngama Hills. The common language of the Maasai is Maa in which the word Mara means spotted – referring to the clusters of the bush which dot the plains. In addition to the wildebeest and hordes of zebra which joins them in their annual pilgrimage for pastures, the Masai Mara supports the lion, cheetah, elephant, kongoni, topi, Thomson’s gazelle and the Defassa waterbuck, as well as eight species of primate. Picnic lunch will be at the hippo pool where with luck you may spot hippos and crocs basking in the sun. We may visit a Maasai manyatta/village to interact with them as they entertain you with dances as you take photos and videos where you may learn more about the Maasai culture. Return by 1845hrs.Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa lodge/similar hotel.

Day 4: Masai Mara – Nairobi

Early morning game viewing runs at 0630hrs return for breakfast by 0830hrs. Thereafter prepare to depart Mara for our journey to Nairobi. There will be a complimentary lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant and after be transferred to the airport after a memorable safari. Distance Masai Mara – Nairobi approx. 250kms.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Nairobi/Arrival Kenya:

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, meet our representative, greet and transfer to your Fairview Hotel.

Day 2: Nairobi – Masai Mara:

After breakfast, we will pick you from your Nairobi hotel then depart for the Masai Mara Game Reserve. There will be a stop at the viewpoint of the Great Rift whose view of the valley below is splendidly panoramic and another stop for refuelling in Narok Town (the major administrative centre for the Maasai Community). On arrival, check in at Ol Moran camp where you will have your late lunch. At 1600hrs, enjoy an evening game drive in this world-famous reserve due to its high animal concentration and its yearly seasonal migration of wildebeest and zebra. Dinner and overnight at Ol–Moran camp/Similar hotel. Distance Nairobi – Masai Mara approx. 250kms.

Day 3: Masai Mara Game Reserve:

After breakfast, proceed for a day of tracking game with your driver/guide. All the ‘Big 5’ may be seen namely elephant, buffalo, and lion though the sighting of rhino and leopard which make the total five cannot be guaranteed as they are few in number, very shy and elusive. Break for your leisurely picnic lunch at the hippo pool, where you may spot hippos and crocodiles basking in the sun. Then in the afternoon (at an extra cost) go for optional activities like having a nature walk, visiting a Maasai village to see the nomadic lifestyle. Dinner and overnight at Ol – Moran camp.

Day 4: Masai Mara – Nakuru:

Early morning pre -breakfast game drive. After breakfast, depart for Nakuru, lunch at Merica Hotel. While on the highway, Mount Longonot (which is of volcanic origin) and Lake Naivasha can be seen from afar. Dinner and overnight Sarova Lion Hill game lodge similar hotel. Distance Mara – Lake Nakuru approx. 260kms.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Nairobi:

After breakfast proceed on a game drive in the nearby Lake Nakuru National Park which has a fantastic array of bird life including flamingos, white pelicans and marabou stork, all water birds that breed in the lake’s alkaline waters. You may spot white rhino and the rare Rothschild’s giraffe that has 5 horns instead of the usual three and clear instead of spotted shanks (legs). A visit to the baboon cliff offers a scenic panorama of the Lake below, surrounded by a vast tract of euphorbia and acacia forest. Makalia falls within the park are an additional attraction. Return to Nairobi where you will enjoy a complimentary lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant. You may spend a night at a City hotel OR if you have an evening outbound flight, then you will be transferred to the airport after a memorable safari. Distance Lake Nakuru – Nairobi approx. 160kms.

3# 7 Days: Classic Safari

After having a relaxed night in Nairobi and a tour around the great capital city, an early departure to Masai Mara follows. From the great Savannah wilderness, to the swamps of Amboseli, and the shimmery waters of the lake Nakuru, the safari includes three major tour regions in Kenya. ITINERARY

Day 1: Nairobi

Upon arrival at JKIA airport you will be met by our staff and transferred to Fair View hotel for check in and the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight Tamarind Tree hotel on bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve

Leaving Nairobi after breakfast, you’ll travel towards Kenya’s fertile highlands and head down the Rift Escarpment on a road built by Italian prisoners of war during World War II. Look for the charming chapel they built at the foot of the escarpment. You will pass the impressive Longonot earth satellite station as you head across the Valley to Narok, and then travel across acres of wheat and barley before you reach the Masai Mara and your lodge in time for lunch. There will be an afternoon game drive. Overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge on a full board basis.

Day 3: Masai Mara National Reserve

Early morning games drive in the reserve returning to your camp for breakfast. After breakfast, Full day spends in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents like the well- known predators and their opponents like the Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Hippo and the dangerous Crocodiles with a visit to Mara river. In the late afternoon on your way, back to the camp, A visit to a Maasai village and a school at a No Extra Cost. In the evening spend a few hours enjoying the lodges’ recreational facilities such as the swimming pool or you may take a walk with the resident lodge naturalist. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 4: Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru

Leaving the Masai Mara after breakfast, you’ll travel across the ‘breadbasket’ of Kenya, where acres of wheat and barley litter the landscape as you head north to Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasai land. Now travel across the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley, keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle as you head up the Mau Escarpment, before arriving at Lake Nakuru. The waters here are often coloured shimmering flamingo pink, from thousands of the beautiful birds lining its shores. After lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge, depart for an afternoon game drive in Nakuru National Park before continuing to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Sarova Lion hill Lodge on full board basis.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Amboseli National Park

After an early breakfast, you will depart with a picnic lunch leaving the Rift Valley behind, you continue towards Nairobi and then head south towards OlTukai Lodge. Then proceed with afternoon game drive in the park en route to the Amboseli arriving in the evening. Overnight at Kibo Safari Camp on a full board basis.

Day 6: Amboseli

Full day in the Park. Amboseli National Park is situated near the border of Kenya and Tanzania in the south-east region of Kenya about 250 km from Nairobi. Magnificent views of snow- capped Kilimanjaro are dominant. The best time to see it, however, is early morning or just at sunset. This is Africa’s highest mountain – some call it “the rooftop of Africa”. Game drives with all meals and overnight at Kibo Safari Camp on a full board basis.

Day 7: Amboseli National Park – Nairobi

Following an early breakfast, you’ll catch your last views of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro as you depart Amboseli viewing game en route to the border of the park. From here turn west to the colourful border town of Namanga, where you will find some unique Maasai beadwork. Then turn north along a good tarmac road across the beautiful and seemingly never-ending Athi Plains, arriving in Kenya’s bustling capital city of Nairobi by mid-day. Alternatively, you can be dropped at either Tarakea/Namanga Border post for a Tanzania safari extension.

4# 7 Days: Great Lakes Safari

The Great Lakes Safari consists of bird watching, wildlife and scenery view. This safari options enables you to have a view of the Kenyan Highlands, which are the Great Rift Valley, the Aberdares, Mount Kenya and Park Lakes among others. Meet and greet will be followed by a joint discussion of this itinerary before departure. Begin your safari journey to Mt. Kenya region. This will be a relaxed drive with your driver pointing out any new sightings on the way. Arrive at your lodge in time for Lunch. Afternoon you will be transferred to Aberdares National park. Evening game watching at a floodlit waterhole. Watch animals as they come for water and scratch for salt from the comfort of your lodge. Dinner and overnight at the ARK Lodge.

Day 3: Aberdares-Lake Bogoria

After an early morning breakfast, check out and take a scenic drive via Thomson’s Falls where you will stop to view the scenic waterfalls. Proceed via Tea/coffee plantation arriving at Lake Bogoria for lunch. In the afternoon proceed to the reserve to see the Hot Springs and the Geysers and then return back to the resort for Dinner. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bogoria Resort & Spa.

Day 4: Lake Bogoria – Lake Nakuru (Game drive) – Lake Naivasha

Leaving Bogoria, you travel to Lake Nakuru. The lake is often colored by a shimmering flamingo pink from thousands of the beautiful birds lining its shores. Once in the park, there will be a game drive en route to the lodge. Following lunch and another early afternoon game drive in the park. At 4 o’clock, leave Lake Nakuru and travel to Lake Naivasha for overnight. Overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge on a full board basis.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha – Masai Mara

Early morning breakfast followed by a departure with Game viewing en-route to the exit. Drive to Masai Mara arriving in time for late lunch. Evening game drive in this paradise of animals. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 6: Masai Mara

Spend the whole day in game viewing. The scenic appeal of the tree-studded savannah plains, the moderate climate, and diversity of wild game species make it a one-stop point for game viewing. Look out for the “BIG FIVE”, Predators, Star Ventures and much more as they roam freely in this game park. Picnic lunch shall be by the Mara river as we watch hippos & crocodiles or maybe the great migration river crossing [july-september]. Return to your lodge in the evening for Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 7: Masai Mara-Nairobi

This is the last day of our safari and we will have an optional early morning game drive before breakfast. After breakfast leaves Masai Mara and drives back to Nairobi with lunch en-route. Arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon & transfer to your resident hotel or to the airport for your onward flight back home.

5# Amboseli National Park – Day Tour

  • This is an out of Nairobi Day trip.
  • The Amboseli day trip consists of having a view of the wildlife animals like Elephants among others and a view of the Mount Kenya.
  • The tour starts from your hotel to the Savannah scenery as you look at the magnificent sunrise. It is a 4-hour drive along the Mombasa road from the capital city through the Maasai plains just to get in time for breakfast in Amboseli and the mid-morning drive.

Karen Blixen Museum

Its history dates back to 1914, during the First World War, with the arrival of Karen Blixen from Denmark. At the foot of Ngong Hills, Karen Blixen established herself as a farmer. After her departure in 1931, the suburbs retained the commemorative home of Karen. This is the beautiful farmhouse where Karen Blixen, author of Out of Africa, lived between 1914 and 1931, until she left Kenya after a series of personal tragedies.

In the afternoon proceed for an afternoon game drive around the lake in search of rhinos and flamingos common in this park. Day 7: Samburu:

Samburu is North of the equator and contains rare, drought resistant animal species, which go for long periods without water. These include the reticulated / Samburu giraffe, grevy’s zebra, the blue- shanked Somali ostrich, the gerenuk or giraffe gazelle and the beisy Oryx. Break for lunch at camp. In the late afternoon (at an extra cost), go for optional activities like having a nature walk, visiting Samburu villages to see the nomadic lifestyle or swimming in the camp pool. Day 8: Samburu – Nairobi:

ITINERARY

Day 1: Nairobi/Arrival Kenya:

Upon arrival at JKIA airport you will be met by our staff and transferred to Tamarind Tree hotel for check in and a remainder of the day at leisure. Tamarind Tree Hotel on bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: Nairobi –Samburu Game Reserve:

Leave Nairobi after breakfast to Samburu, heading north, you’ll pass near Thika and continue north through some breath taking scenery dotted with rushing mountain streams and fields of tea and coffee. After Nanyuki town, you will continue north, eventually reaching a dusty outpost known as Isiolo, the last major stop on the journey into the remote northern frontier district. From here it’s a fairly short hop to Samburu. Arrival at the lodge in time for lunch and then depart for an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets. Overnight at Ashnil Samburu camp on a full board basis.

Day 3: Samburu Game Reserve:

Early morning game drive is followed by breakfast, and time to relax by the camp pool or the terrace overlooking the river. After lunch, there will be another game drive returning to the camp as the sunsets. Overnight at Ashnil Samburu Camp on a full board basis.

Day 4: Samburu Game Reserve – Aberdares:

Leave after breakfast and drive south and into the forests of the Aberdare Mountain range arriving at Outspan Hotel for lunch and then afternoon transfer to the Treetops Lodge. Located in the Aberdare National Park, the Treetops Lodge Nyeri tree-house lodge on stilts is famous as the place where Queen Elizabeth II visited as a princess and left as queen. Originally built in 1932, Treetops Lodge lies in the path of an ancient Elephant migratory route between the Aberdare Ranges and Mt Kenya National park, and is strategically sited right in front of a natural watering hole and salt lick, making it the perfect place to view game. Treetops is as much a
part of nature as it has an ancient tree growing right through the hotel, with the lodge being built around it. It is the perfect fusion of nature and comfort sporting a rustic look that fits right into the Aberdares.

Day 5: Aberdares – Lake Nakuru:

An early morning start takes you North West as you head for Nyahururu, still known to many as Thomson’s Falls for its 237-foot cascade. Now travel in a southerly direction to your next destination, the spectacular Lake Nakuru. This is often coloured a shimmering flamingo pink from thousands of the beautiful birds lining its shores. You will arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. Following lunch there is an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets. Overnight at Sarova Lion Hill game Lodge on a full board basis. On the outskirts of the bustling market town of Nakuru lies a truly remarkable national park, which has achieved international fame. Both black and white rhino are being given a new lease of life in this 188 sq. km, fully fenced park – and they are carefully protected. The present rhino population is over 50 and continuing to multiply. The Rothschild’s giraffe is another rarity and the park has its fair share of buffalo, leopard, zebra, eland, waterbuck and lion.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara:

After an early morning breakfast, drive to Narok town via Mai-Mahiu with a brief a rest stop and proceed on to Mara arriving in time for lunch at Mara Simba Lodge. After lunch, depart for an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sunsets. Overnight at Mara Leisure Camp on a full board basis.

Day 7: Masai Mara:

Early morning game drives in the reserve returning to your camp for breakfast. After breakfast Full day spend in the park with packed lunch in search of its popular residents like the well-known predators and their opponents like the Zebra, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Hippo and the dangerous Crocodiles with a visit to Mara river. In the late afternoon on your way back to the camp, A visit to a Maasai village and a school at an Extra Cost. Day 8: Masai Mara – Nairobi:

After breakfast, you will depart the Masai Mara and head across acres of rolling wheat and barley farms to Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. From here cross the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley whilst keeping, an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle before heading up the rift escarpment. You will arrive into Kenya’s bustling capital in the early afternoon. Once in the city, you will be dropped off at Sarova Panafric Hotel for overnight on bed& breakfast.

Day 9: Nairobi- Fly out:

Day 2: NAIROBI – Aberdares National Park:

Depart Nairobi for the Ark or similar lodge. The Ark is situated in the Aberdares National Park, deep in the mountain. This unique lodge resembles a ship; overlooking a floodlit waterhole and saltlick which is visited by a variety of animals. Often seen here are the elephants, rhino, and bushbuck. Occasionally a leopard or giant forest hog may be seen. Before driving to the Ark, lunch is taken at the Aberdare Country Club. Dinner and breakfast at the Ark. Distance approx. 150kms – 2hrs.

Day 3: Nyeri – Nakuru:

We shall criss – cross the equator almost 8 times. Arrive in Nakuru in time for lunch at Merica Hotel. The Park has a fantastic array of bird life including flamingos, white pelicans and marabou stork, all water birds that breed in the lake’s alkaline waters. You may spot white rhino and the rare Rothschild’s giraffe that has 5 horns instead of the usual three and clear instead of spotted shanks (legs).A visit to the baboon cliff offers a scenic panorama of the Lake below, surrounded by a vast tract of euphorbia and acacia forest. Makalia falls within the park are an additional attraction. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion hill. Distance Nyeri – Nakuru approx. 170kms 2hrs 30min.

Day 4: Nakuru – Naivasha

Today after breakfast, we depart Nakuru with a game drive en-route to Naivasha town. On our way, Lake Naivasha and Mount Longonot can be seen from afar. Optional boat ride at the crescent island (payable directly). Crescent Island is one of the few places in all Africa where you can wander on foot among herds of zebra, wildebeest, gazelle, and giraffe because of the absence of predators. It is here that the movie ‘Out of Africa’ was shot. Arrive at Naivasha Sopa Resort in time for lunch. After lunch optional, visit to Hell’s Gate National Park. You will visit the Geothermal power plant at Ol Karia and the hot springs (payable directly). Hell’s Gate is the only park that officially allows transport by walking or bicycling. The small perimeters of the park give you a chance to see a variety of wildlife.
Hereafter you return to Naivasha Sopa Resort for dinner and overnight. Distance Nakuru – Naivasha approx. 70kms 1hr.

Day 5: Naivasha – Masai Mara Game Reserve

Today after breakfast, we shall depart Naivasha town (Kenya’s famous horticulture town) for Masai Mara passing maize and wheat plantations along the way. We shall arrive for lunch at Mara Sopa lodge. At 1600hrs, go for an evening game drive in this pristine unequalled big game Country. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge, Distance approx. 230kms 5hrs.

Day 6: Masai Mara

After breakfast, this will be a day of game viewing where you will carry packed lunch. Blessed with an outstanding concentration of animals and panoramic views of across the plains and dotted woodlands, the Masai Mara provides an experience unsurpassed. As the northern extension of the great Serengeti grassland, the reserve is host to the annual migration of over a million wildebeest –the most awesome wildlife spectacle on planet earth. The Mara covers an area of about 1,500 square kilometers in the southwestern corner of Kenya, is not fenced and bordered on the west by the Olooloo escarpment and in the east by the Ngama Hills. The common language of the Maasai is Maa in which the word Mara means spotted – referring to the clusters of the bush, which dot the plains. In addition to the wildebeest and hordes of zebra, which joins them in their annual pilgrimage for pastures, the Masai Mara supports the lion, cheetah, elephant, kongoni, topi, Thomson’s gazelle and the Defassa waterbuck, as well as eight species of primate. Day 7: Masai Mara
